In summary:

In-House SEO Strategy considerations includes:

1. Getting C-Level buy in -You need a C-Level advocate

2. Reporting on Results – Reporting on those metrics that matter, clear cut identifiable and actionable goals.

3. Project/Program Management – Just as you would manage any other multi-million dollar project, within SEO you need proper project management.

4. Search Education – This should be one of the largest items on your annual to-do list. Evangelize and educate. Generate a corporate search playbook, include search webinars, be the company expert and by all means share your expertise with all!

At the end of it all, you will be wearing many hats, that of Project manager, politician, marketer, IT support, translator/interpreter – to name just a few. If done properly, it will be incredibly rewarding. Don’t expect this to get put together over night. It will take time, years in most cases. You have to persist and insist on ensuring your process is part of the marketing, IT and executive level teams.
