Google Chrome – do we need another browser?
September 18th, 2008 | Posted by in Google ToolsSince I generally have an opinnion on most things, I figured I would share mine with you about Chrome. After using this browser for a couple of weeks now my overall opinion is “ok it’s not bad” .
I like that it was built from the ground up, if one tab isn’t working the entire browser doesn’t go to hell. You also have to really like the security features
· Site blacklists to protect against malware and phishing
· A privacy mode (Incognito) to erase tracks of user activity.
· A thorough Clear Browsing Data dialog box.
So, no dopey PR toolbar – does this mean we can get ready to say ciao to the Page Rank toolbar thing, which would be a great thing!
Now for Matt Cutts commentary on the Chrome thing and then of course your next or initial though is what are the SEO implications with this browser? I tend to agree with most of the comments, but I especially see this as a help—> Raising the awareness of your brand and getting many people to search for your brand will help your brand related queries show up when people search for broader related brands.
I guess time will tell as to whether Chrome actually is better than sliced bread … FYI – doesn’t work real well with XP.
